The towns from Finisterre to Malpica

This tour will show you different ways of life with a unique charm in Costa da Morte. In Camariñas, the palilleiras (a traditional figure), go out to the street to knit as a tradition. This tradition has taken place since the sixteenth century in the region. Moreover, this seaside town is internationally known.

The waterfall of Ézaro

This is the only place in Europe where a river flows directly into the sea as a waterfall. You can find this natural masterpiece in the municipality of Dumbría. This is a forty meter fall that has been the main star of numerous legends.

Cabo Vilán

This is one of the most dangerous points for sailors in the Atlantic coast. Here, an English boat with about 172 sailors sank in 1890. In fact, it is the oldest electric lighthouse in Spain, turned on for the first time in 1896; a monument which rises 125 meters above sea level.

Cabo Finisterre

You cannot miss it! Romans considered this point the end of the earth. Even so, Finisterre continues being one of the most known places in Europe. It has been the venue of several naval battle and the place where legends have emerged since a long time ago.

La Vía Verde La Camocha, ¡recorre el paraíso asturiano!

Asturias siempre es un buen destino para descubrir en una escapada. ¿Y qué mejor que hacerlo que mientras recorremos una preciosa Vía Verde en plena campiña asturiana? ¡Ven a conocer una nueva aventura con BungalowsClub!

La Vía Verde La Camocha sigue gran parte del trazado del ferrocarril minero que en su día comunicó los pozos de La Camocha con Veriña, el cual es un barrio de origen industrial de los años cincuenta del s. XX. En concreto, esta ruta de 7,5 km discurre entre la mina La Camocha (parroquia de Huerces) y el barrio de Los Campomanes (parroquia de Tremañes), ambas en Gijón.

El recorrido comienza cerca de la extensa finca Quinta La Torre, antiguo palacio de los Marqueses de Casa Tremañes y a poca distancia de la autopista. Tras bajar esta suave pendiente, terminaréis en las inmediaciones de la fuente’l Mortero. En este punto cabe destacar que fue donde encontraron la estela consagrada a la diosa romana de la salud Fortuna Balnearis.

A continuación, la Vía Verde La Camocha sigue en paralelo por el arroyo Pilón, donde hasta podremos cruzar una pasarela de madera para llegar a la parroquia de Roces. En este punto, primero alcanzaremos unos polígonos industriales para luego acercarnos hasta el Palacio de la Duquesa de Riansares.

Segundo tramo de la Vía Verde La Camocha

Tras este punto, hasta el Puentón (antiguo puente del ferrocarril), encontraréis un área de descanso. Aquí encontraréis unas excelentes vistas al sur del valle de Llantones, El Picumil y l’Altu La Madera. Más abajo encontraréis la casa en la que estuvo el famoso Molín de Payares. Se trata de uno de los muchos molinos que funcionaban con el agua del arroyo Llantones. Actualmente, se conserva una artística panera tallada.

Pasando bajo el viaducto de la autovía minera, tomaremos como referencia la silueta del Picu’l Sol. Tranquilos, la identificamos nada más entrar en la parroquia de Samartín de Güerces por el barrio de Cagüezo. Esta parte del recorrido de la Vía Verde La Camocha ¡os encantará! Y es que se trata de un idílico paisaje rural dominado sobre todo por los altos castilletes de los pozos de la mina La Camocha. A los pies de la mina es donde finaliza esta ruta. Para recuperar energías, bien para el camino de vuelta o si preferís tomar el autobús, encontraréis un área de descanso justo al final del trayecto.

Y los que prefieran seguir caminando o pedaleando pueden hacerlo por la Senda del Río Piles. Se trata de una senda bastante llana, sin grandes cuestas salvo en el último kilómetro. Tiene 2 variantes: la del Piles que finaliza en el complejo deportivo de La Camocha; y la senda del río Llantones que finaliza en la mina de La Camocha. En este punto es desde donde se puede enlazar con la Vía Verde.
